The Great Commission

The Great Commission

After Christ's miraculous resurrection He met several times with His Apostles and Disciples. During His last meeting He shared with them a command for all Christians to follow what we know as The Great Commission.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age,"

Matthew 28:18-20 NASB 1995

This is the foundation of 12 Were Chosen, to provide elements that can help you spread the Gospel and lead others to Christ. You may only plant a mustard seed about Christ or open up a dialog due to a person's curiosity regarding Jesus Christ.

I must ask how many people have you asked if they are a Christian or chatted about the Gospel this last week? Maybe your home has Christian wall art or even coasters that catch their attention.

The Great Commission is clear in telling us what responsibility we have. It may be carried out in many different ways, but it is to be carried out. At 12 Were Chosen we work to provide products that can help in this responsibility. I will go into a restaurant but sit at the bar with my diet coke and my sweatshirt with the head of Jesus Christ on its front.

I may turn to the person next to me and almost immediately see a different tone come across their face. The door has opened and I will ask "Oh, are you a Christian?" The answer, regardless of what it may be, promotes a dialogue about Jesus Christ. It may lead me to say, "We all live forever, it's just were." Or a discussion about the Bible, the Gospel of Jesus Christ or Jesus Christ Himself.

The mustard seed has been planted.
